What Happens When You Delete Your Account
We respect your right to have your personal data removed. When you request account deletion, we will permanently delete the following data associated with your account within 30 days:
- Your user profile (name, email, phone number, profile picture)
- Your account credentials and authentication data
- Session history and login records
For Insurance Agents
If you are an insurance agent, the following additional data will also be deleted:
- Your agent profile (license number, agency, specializations, bio)
- Client records you have created on the platform
- Policy records linked to your agent profile
- Uploaded documents and files
Important: Deleting your agent account will remove access to all policy records for your linked policyholders. Please ensure your clients have alternative access to their policy information before requesting deletion.
For Policyholders
If you are a policyholder, your account and profile data will be deleted. Your insurance policies remain managed by your agent and are not affected by your account deletion. The link between your email address and the agent's client record will be removed.
Data Retention
Certain data may be retained beyond 30 days where required by law, including:
- Records required for compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010
- Financial or transaction records required by Malaysian tax or regulatory authorities
- Data subject to a pending legal claim or investigation
Any retained data will be securely deleted as soon as the legal retention period expires.
How to Request Account Deletion
You can request account deletion using any of the following methods:
Option 1: Email Request
Send an email to privacy@polikeeper.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Include the email address associated with your Polikeeper account. We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days.
Option 2: In-App Request
Sign in to your Polikeeper account on the web or mobile app, go to Settings, and select the option to delete your account. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm.
Confirmation
You will receive an email confirmation once your account deletion has been processed. If you have any questions about this process, please contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@polikeeper.com.
